Maybe you could help make a suggestion to google to have an option to remove the 8 buttons if you can. I actually wanted the 8 buttons to disappear at all times to make it neat and clean, I do not want the 8 buttons to appear at all tabs at any time. It is an extra step to press the home button to make the 8 buttons disappear and I do not see a point to it, I might just type in the url I am going to and load the site immediately after opening new tab.

I use new tab very often, so when I open a new tab I would see 8 frequently visited buttons there, I can then press the home button to make the new tab load and the 8 buttons would disappear and look like your screenshot. My homepage looks exactly like the screenshot you posted. (BTW, I think I said before that the Homepage button isn't available on Chrome on the Pixel - I now see that's no longer the case!)Yes I have the homepage button. Can you rely on the Homepage button, or do you not have that option on your Chrome? But if I tap the Homepage button, it brings up the plain site. open, load site, close tab/chrome for a few times on a same site and then when I press the in the menu, i see new buttons appearing at the 8 buttons area.Īh yes, when I select New Tab (or tap the tab management button and tap the (+) new tab button there), I do see the newtab screen with the shortcuts. Then close the whole browser and repeat with some sites again. The new buttons will appear after visiting the same site a few times, example if I access I open a new tab and go to close then go to history and click the then load then close, open new tab and repeat. The screenshots I posted above are after pressing, you can see the more than 1 tabs number opened in the square icon. I see the exact same thing like your screenshot if I close all my tabs (I close by pressing the square number button and press x one by one) and then reopen chrome.Ĭan you try on your screenshot press menu three dots button then press, post a screenshot of what you see when you have 2 or more tabs opened? I wish I could help more, but that would probably require me to go get a Samsung device and play around with Chrome there. I tried going to various sites and then going back to the homepage, and I never got the new shortcuts. It's odd, because this is what I see when I set as the homepage:Īs you can see, it's slightly different from your screenshot.
